White Bordeaux
I love White Bordeaux and have done all my life, as I
have Rose. 20 years ago both were very unfashionable, but Rose is now
everywhere, I wish the same revolution would occur for White Bordeaux both
dry and sweet.
The sweet are an alternative to port at the end of meal and accompany as dessert
or a piece of cheese in equal measure, whilst the dry offer remarkable
quality and in many cases are a fraction of white burgundy prices. I only have a small list of
these wines, but they have been hand picked and are delicious.

A truly remarkable vintage producing stunning long lived wines of
great intensity. The D'Yquem has been describe by the chateau as one
of their greatest wine.

A little like the Red Bordeaux this vintage has to be very carefully
selected to see it at it's best. I have gone for the Rieussec which I
can vouch for, Parker gives 93/96 out of 100; it is majestic and will keep
for another 25 years.

Not so great for the dessert wines, but very good for the for the
dry wines of Bordeaux. The Doisy- Daene is a flinty dry sauvignon that
can be enjoyed now but will keep for another few years, though not in my
house!
